London to Amsterdam cycle rideposted on 20 July 2012 | posted in Cycling eventsDo you fancy a trip to Amsterdam? Do you fancy travelling through England, France and Belgium to get there? And would you like to do it on your bike, whilst raising money for a good cause? If the answer is 'yes', 'yes" and 'yes', and you are free between 1st and 4th September, then Bikeworks may well have the solution. Bikeworks, a social enterprise based in East London are organising a sponsored ride from London to Amsterdam in support of their work to help people with disabilities or learning difficulties to enjoy the benefits of cycling. The near 300 mile route goes through beautiful countryside, along the canals of Belgium and Holland and the historic town of Bruges. The itinerary is as follows: Day 1 London to Dunkirk – Through kent countryside and an evening ferry crossing. Day 2 Dunkirk to Haamstede – Canal routes through Belgium and Bruges. Day 3 Haamsted to Amsterdam – Dutch dykes and coastal dune cycle paths. ![]() To sign up or for more information, please call Bikeworks on 0208 980 7998.
