Bristol Big Bike Ride 2012posted on 5 June 2012 | posted in Bristol Bike Blog We are hoping that we will not see a repeat of the problems that beset last years Bristol Biggest Bike Ride. Regrettably the event had to be cancelled when both heavy rain and an early morning accident along the route forced organisers to call the event off at the last minute. Disappointing those who had braved the weather, donned their waterproofs and made their way into the centre of town. This year the ride takes place on Sunday 17th June, with the first ride (the Clevedon Challenge) leaving Millenium Square at 9.00am. There are four rides to choose from, including one suitable for young children; the Family Fiesta. The ride, which is one of the UK's biggest free, non-competitive cycling events, is part of Bristol Big Green Week 2012, an international festival of environmental ideas, culture and art. So there are plenty of activities to enjoy after the ride too.
